The BZW04-15B is a 400W bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Diotec Semiconductor. It is designed to protect sensitive electronics from overvoltage and ESD events. With a standoff voltage of 15.3V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 17.1V, the device clamps transients at a maximum of 25.2V (at 16A peak pulse current per 10/1000µs waveform). The bidirectional nature simplifies board layout by eliminating polarity concerns.
Packaged in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded through-hole package, the BZW04-15B is suitable for general-purpose overvoltage protection in commercial and industrial applications. The device is RoHS, REACH, and Conflict Minerals compliant per the datasheet, and supports a junction temperature range of -50°C to 175°C. Typical applications include overvoltage protection, free-wheeling diode functions, and ESD protection.
The reverse standoff voltage (VWM) is 15.3V.
The minimum breakdown voltage is 17.1V.
The maximum clamping voltage is 25.2V at 16A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform).
