The BZG05C8V2TR is a Zener diode from Vishay Semiconductors, part of the BZG05C series. It offers a nominal Zener voltage of 8.2V with a maximum power dissipation of 1.25W when mounted on standard epoxy-glass substrate (RthJA < 100 K/W, Tamb = 25 °C). Under improved thermal conditions (RthJA < 30 K/W, Tamb = 60 °C), the power dissipation can reach 3W. The device can handle non-repetitive peak surge power up to 60W for 100 μs pulses.
The diode is housed in a surface-mount DO-214AC (SMA) package, weighing 77 mg, with a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0 and MSL level 1. It is designed for wave and reflow soldering with a soldering condition of 260 °C for 10 seconds at terminals. The forward voltage is 1.2V maximum at 200 mA, and reverse leakage current is 1 µA at 6.2V.
This Zener diode is suitable for voltage stabilization applications. It is available in RoHS-compliant commercial grade (E3 suffix) and AEC-Q101 qualified automotive grade (HE3 suffix). The operating temperature range is -65°C to 150°C.
