The BYW29-200G is a state-of-the-art switch-mode power rectifier from On Semiconductor, designed for high-efficiency switching power supplies, inverters, and free wheeling diode applications. It features a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 200V and an average rectified forward current of 8A at a case temperature of 150°C. The device offers a low forward voltage drop of 0.85V at 5A and 100°C, minimizing conduction losses. With a fast reverse recovery time of 35 ns (at 1A, di/dt=50 A/µs), it is well-suited for high-frequency operation.
Packaged in a standard TO-220-2 through-hole case, the BYW29-200G provides a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 3°C/W, enabling efficient heat dissipation. The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to 175°C, and the device is rated for a nonrepetitive peak surge current of 100A. The epoxy molding meets UL 94 V-0 flammability classification, and the device is MSL1 compliant. A Pb-free package option is available.
Typical applications include output rectification in switch-mode power supplies, free wheeling diodes in motor control circuits, and high-frequency rectification in power factor correction circuits. The rugged glass passivated junction ensures reliable performance under harsh conditions.
