The BYV28-600-TR is an ultra-fast avalanche sinterglass diode from Vishay Dale. It is designed for applications requiring high efficiency and fast switching, such as switched-mode power supplies and TV systems. Key electrical specifications include a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600V, an average forward current of 3.5A (with lead length of 10 mm), and a peak forward surge current of 90A. The diode features a forward voltage of 1.25V maximum at 3.5A, with a reverse recovery time of 50ns.
The device is built with glass passivated, hermetically sealed axial-leaded glass envelope (SOD-64 case). It offers a low reverse current of 5µA maximum at room temperature, and a junction temperature range of -55°C to +175°C. Thermal resistance junction-to-ambient is 25 K/W with lead length 10mm, and 70 K/W on PC board.
This diode is suitable for power feedback systems and other circuits requiring ultra-fast soft recovery switching. The avalanche technology provides robustness against reverse energy surges. The through-hole mounting allows for easy integration into standard PCB designs.
