The BYV28-200-TAP is an ultra-fast avalanche sinterglass diode from Vishay Dale, part of the BYV28 series. It is designed for very fast rectification applications, such as switch mode power supplies. The diode is available in a hermetically sealed SOD-64 axial package with plated axial leads, suitable for through-hole mounting.
With a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 200V and a non-repetitive peak reverse voltage of 220V, the diode can handle an average forward current of 3.5A. The maximum forward voltage is 1.1V at a forward current of 5A, and the reverse recovery time is 30ns. It also offers a peak forward surge current of 90A at a 10ms half-sine pulse.
The controlled avalanche characteristic and glass-passivated junction make this diode suitable for robust performance. It is AEC-Q101 qualified, indicating suitability for automotive-grade environments. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +175°C.
The TAP suffix denotes 2,500 units per ammopack as per the ordering information. The device is also available in tape and reel configuration under the ordering code -TR.
