The BYT62-TAP is a standard avalanche sinterglass diode manufactured by Vishay Dale. It features a glass passivated junction and hermetically sealed SOD-57 package, ensuring high reliability in demanding environments. The diode is rated for a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 2400V and an average forward current of 350mA, with a peak forward surge current capability of 10A.
This diode offers controlled avalanche characteristics with a non-repetitive avalanche energy rating of 60mJ, making it suitable for applications where transient overvoltages may occur. The low reverse current characteristic contributes to efficient operation. The junction temperature can reach up to 175°C, with a storage temperature range of -55°C to +190°C.
The SOD-57 package features axial leads with a color band indicating the cathode. The component is solderable per MIL-STD-750, method 2026, and can be mounted in any position. The thermal resistance from junction to ambient is 60 K/W with a lead length of 10mm.
Typical applications include high voltage rectification circuits, power supplies, and industrial equipment where controlled avalanche performance and hermetic sealing are required.
