The BYT56M-TAP is a fast avalanche rectifier diode from Vishay, part of the BYT56 series. It features a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 1000V and an average forward current of 3A, making it suitable for high-voltage rectification applications. The diode has a typical forward voltage of 1.4V at 3A and a reverse recovery time of 100ns, characteristic of fast recovery diodes.
Designed with an avalanche technology, the BYT56M-TAP can handle peak forward surge currents up to 80A and has a non-repetitive reverse avalanche energy rating of 10mJ. It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, ensuring reliability in harsh environments.
The diode is housed in a hermetically sealed SOD-64 axial package with plated leads, suitable for through-hole mounting. The cathode is identified by a color band. The package weighs approximately 858mg and is available in tape and reel or ammopack packaging with 2500 units per reel.
