The BYT12P-1000 is a fast recovery rectifier diode from STMicroelectronics designed for high voltage and moderate current applications. It features a repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 1000V and an average forward current (IF(AV)) of 12A at a case temperature of 100°C. The device offers a maximum reverse recovery time (trr) of 155ns under standard test conditions, enabling efficient switching with low losses.
This diode is suitable for use as a freewheeling diode in converters and motor control circuits, as well as a rectifier in switched-mode power supplies (S.M.P.S.). Its fast recovery characteristics and low switching losses make it appropriate for high-frequency circuits where efficiency is critical.
The BYT12P-1000 is supplied in a TO-220AC plastic package with the cathode connected to the case. It is a through-hole mount component with a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 2°C/W, allowing for effective heat dissipation when properly mounted. The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to 150°C.
