The BYT08P-400 is a fast recovery rectifier diode from STMicroelectronics, designed for switch mode power supplies and other power converters. It is intended for free-wheeling function in converters and motor control circuits. Key electrical ratings include a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 400V, an average forward current of 8A (Tc=120°C for non-insulated TO-220AC), and a non-repetitive surge forward current of 100A. The forward voltage drop is 1.5V maximum at 8A and 25°C, with a typical reverse recovery time of 75ns at IF=1A, VR=30V, dIF/dt=-15A/µs. The device features very low switching losses and low noise turn-off switching. It is available in both insulated (2500 VRMS) and non-insulated TO-220AC packages, with junction-to-case thermal resistances of 2.5°C/W and 3.5°C/W respectively. The junction temperature maximum is 150°C, and storage temperature range is -40 to +150°C. Capacitance is 7pF. This diode is suitable for high-frequency rectification and power conversion applications.
