BYM13-40-E3/97 is a surface-mount Schottky barrier rectifier diode from Vishay General Semiconductor. It is rated for a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 40 V and an average rectified forward current of 1 A. The device provides a typical forward voltage drop of 0.5 V at 1 A, which reduces conduction losses and supports high-efficiency rectification.
The diode comes in a GL41 (DO-213AB) MELF package with matte tin plated terminals, designed for automated placement. A guardring provides overvoltage protection, and the molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020, and the junction operating temperature range is -55 °C to 125 °C.
Typical applications include low-voltage high-frequency inverters, freewheeling, DC/DC converters, and polarity protection circuits. The device is RoHS-compliant and can withstand surge currents up to 30 A.
