The BYM10-600-E3/96 is a surface-mount glass passivated junction rectifier diode from Vishay. It is designed for general purpose rectification in power supplies, inverters, converters, and freewheeling circuits. With a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600 V and an average rectified forward current of 1.0 A, it suits a variety of medium-voltage applications.
This diode features a typical forward voltage of 1.1 V at 1 A (maximum 1.2 V), a maximum reverse leakage current of 10 µA at 25 °C, and a peak forward surge current rating of 30 A. It can handle non-repetitive peak reverse avalanche energy of 5 mJ. The device operates at junction temperatures up to 175 °C and is rated for storage from -65 °C to 175 °C.
The BYM10-600-E3/96 comes in a MELF (DO-213AB) glass package with matte tin plated leads, suitable for automated surface-mount assembly. Polarity is indicated by two color bands on the cathode end. The E3 suffix confirms RoHS-compliant commercial grade, and the device meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 with a maximum peak reflow temperature of 250 °C.
Typical applications include output rectification in AC/DC power supplies, input rectifiers, DC/DC converters, and freewheeling diodes. The Superectifier structure provides high reliability under demanding conditions. This standard recovery diode is not intended for high-speed switching applications, as its reverse recovery time is longer than 500 ns.
