The BYG20J-E3/TR3 is an ultrafast avalanche SMD rectifier from Vishay General Semiconductor, designed for high frequency rectification in power supplies, inverters, converters, and freewheeling diode applications. It features a glass passivated pellet chip junction for low reverse current and soft recovery characteristics.
Key electrical specifications include a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 600V, average rectified current (IF(AV)) of 1.5A, forward voltage of 1.4V typical at 1.5A, and ultrafast reverse recovery time (trr) of 75ns. The device can handle a peak forward surge current (IFSM) of 30A and offers non-repetitive avalanche energy (EAS) of 20mJ.
The rectifier is housed in a surface mount DO-214AC (SMA) package with matte tin plated terminals, suitable for automated placement. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 with a maximum peak reflow temperature of 260°C, and the molding compound is rated UL 94 V-0 for flammability. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
