The BYD57G from Philips is a fast soft-recovery controlled avalanche rectifier diode designed for high-reliability applications. It features a glass-passivated construction and a cavity-free cylindrical glass SOD87 package, known for its small surface mount outline and hermetic sealing.
Key electrical characteristics include a repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 400V and a continuous reverse voltage (VR) of 400V. The average forward current (IF(AV)) is rated at 1.0A at 85°C, and 0.4A at 60°C with PCB mounting. It also boasts a non-repetitive peak forward current (IFSM) of 5.0A and a guaranteed avalanche energy absorption capability of 10mJ.
With a low leakage current and excellent stability, the BYD57G is suitable for various power supply and rectification circuits. Its high maximum operating temperature and controlled avalanche capability ensure robust performance under demanding conditions. The device is shipped in 8 mm embossed tape, facilitating automated assembly processes.
