BUY69A

The BUY69A is a high voltage NPN silicon transistor manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is housed in a JEDEC TO-3 metal case and is designed for horizontal deflection output stages of color TV receivers, as well as high voltage, fast switching and industrial applications. The transistor features a collector-emitter breakdown voltage (VCEO) of 400V minimum, a collector-emitter voltage (VCES) of 1000V maximum, and a collector current rating of 10A continuous (15A peak).

Electrical characteristics include a DC current gain (hFE) of 15 minimum at 2.5A collector current, a collector-emitter saturation voltage of 3.3V maximum at 8A/2.5A, and a transition frequency of 10 MHz typical. The device is capable of fast switching with turn-on time of 0.2 µs, storage time of 1.7 µs, and fall time of 0.3 µs under specified conditions. It also has a second breakdown collector current of 4A minimum.

The BUY69A is rated for a maximum junction temperature of 200°C and a storage temperature range of -65 to 200°C. The thermal resistance from junction to case is 1.75°C/W maximum, allowing for 100W power dissipation at case temperature ≤25°C. The transistor is chassis mountable and comes in the TO-3 package, which is also known as TO-204AA.
