The Infineon BTS71220-4ESE is a Serial Interface Power Controller from the SPOC™ +2 family. It is designed for driving resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, replacing electromechanical relays, fuses, and discrete circuits. This device is suitable for applications requiring 5A and 3A load driving capabilities, including high inrush current loads like 55W or 27W bulbs and equivalent electronic loads such as LED modules.
Key electrical specifications include a minimum operating voltage of 4.1V (at switch ON) and 3.1V (during cranking), with a maximum operating voltage of 28V. The digital supply voltage is compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic. It features typical on-resistance values of 2x 9.5 mΩ for two channels and 2x 22.5 mΩ for the other two channels. Overvoltage protection is provided up to a minimum of 35V at temperatures greater than or equal to 25 °C.
The BTS71220-4ESE comes in a PG-TSDSO-24 package. It integrates high-side switching with diagnosis and embedded protection features. The device supports a daisy-chain capable SPI interface and includes slew rate control for internal channels. It also offers ReverseON for low power dissipation in reverse polarity conditions and InverseON for switch ON capability during inverse current conditions. Protection features include absolute and dynamic temperature limitation, overcurrent protection with programmable restart control, undervoltage shutdown, and overvoltage protection with external components.
