BTS7012-1EPA

The Infineon BTS7012-1EPA is a smart high-side power switch designed for automotive applications. It is part of the PROFET™ +2 12V family and integrates protection and diagnostic functions.

Key electrical specifications include a minimum operating voltage of 4.1V and a maximum operating voltage of 28V. It features a nominal load current of 8.5A at 85°C and a maximum ON-state resistance of 21.5mΩ at 150°C, with a typical ON-state resistance of 12mΩ. The device also includes overvoltage protection with a minimum clamp of 35V at 25°C and a low sleep mode current of 0.5µA at 85°C.

Protection features include absolute and dynamic temperature limitation with controlled restart, overcurrent protection with intelligent restart control, undervoltage shutdown, and overvoltage protection with external components. Diagnostic features consist of proportional load current sense, open load detection in ON and OFF states, and short circuit detection to ground and battery.

The BTS7012-1EPA is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 Grade 1. It is supplied in a PG-TSDSO-14 package. This device is suitable for resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, and can replace electromechanical relays, fuses, and discrete circuits. It is capable of driving 8.5A loads and high inrush current loads such as H4 55W lamps or equivalent electronic loads.
