The BST52TA is an NPN silicon planar Darlington transistor from Diodes Incorporated. It combines two bipolar transistors in a Darlington configuration to provide high DC current gain, with a minimum current gain of 1000 at IC = 150mA and VCE = 10V. The device is rated for a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 80V and a continuous collector current of 500mA, with a peak pulse collector current of 1.5A.
This transistor offers fast switching and a maximum collector-emitter saturation voltage of 1.3V at IB = 500µA and IC = 500mA. Maximum power dissipation is 1W at 25°C ambient temperature, and the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is 125°C/W when mounted on a standard FR4 PCB. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
The BST52TA is supplied in the SOT89 (TO-243AA) surface-mount package with matte tin terminals. It is lead-free, RoHS compliant, halogen and antimony free, and qualified to AEC-Q101 standards for high-reliability applications. Moisture sensitivity level is 1 per J-STD-020.
The device is suitable for high-current switching circuits, relay and solenoid drivers, and lamp load switching. It is available in tape and reel packaging with 1,000 pieces per reel.
