The BR1005 is a single phase glass passivated silicon bridge rectifier from Rectron Semiconductor, part of the BR1005 thru BR104 series. It is designed for printed circuit board mounting and features a low forward voltage drop of 1.05V maximum at 5A, high surge overload rating of 200A peak forward surge current, and high temperature soldering capability up to 260°C for 10 seconds. The device is not ESD sensitive.
With a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 50V, RMS reverse voltage of 35V, and DC blocking voltage of 50V, the BR1005 can handle a maximum forward rectified current of 10A at 40°C ambient temperature. It has a maximum reverse current of 10µA at 25°C and 500µA at 125°C, and a rating for fusing of 166 A²s. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 150°C, and thermal resistance from junction to ambient is 5°C/W.
Typical applications include switching power supplies, home appliances, office devices, and industrial auto-equipment. The BR1005 is housed in a through-hole BR-10 package with wire leads, making it suitable for easy insertion into PCBs.
