The Texas Instruments BQ7790400PWR is an ultra-low-power battery protector IC suitable for 3 to 4 series Lithium-Ion battery packs. It provides a full suite of voltage, current, and temperature protections, including overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent discharge, short-circuit discharge, over-temperature, and under-temperature detection.
This device features independent charge and discharge FET drivers and a 36-V absolute maximum rating per cell input. It operates with a typical current of 6 µA in normal mode and can scale cell counts from 3 to 20 series or more. The protector includes open cell and open-wire detection, as well as built-in self-test functions for high reliability.
Packaged in a 20-TSSOP, the BQ7790400PWR is designed for surface mount applications. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for various environmental conditions.
