The BQ76PL102RGTT from Texas Instruments is a PowerLAN dual-cell Li-Ion battery monitor IC designed for battery management applications. It features advanced PowerPump cell balancing technology that equalizes cells in Li-Ion battery packs, contributing to longer run time and cell life. This technology transfers charge between cells during all operating conditions without wasteful current bleeding or heat buildup.

The device monitors up to two individual cell voltages and temperatures. It is part of a complete low-cost solution for battery packs up to 12 series and one or more parallel cells when used with the bq78PL114. The BQ76PL102RGTT offers low current consumption, with less than 250 µA in active mode, less than 35 µA in standby, and less than 1 µA in undervoltage shutdown.

It connects directly to cells without resistive dividers and includes an internal LDO regulator for support circuitry. The IC utilizes a delta-sigma A/D converter for millivolt measurement resolution and has a self-calibrating time base, eliminating the need for a crystal when used with the bq78PL114. The BQ76PL102RGTT comes in a 16-VQFN (3x3) package and operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
