The BQ294602DRVR is a secondary-level overvoltage monitor and protector for Li-Ion battery pack systems from Texas Instruments. This IC is specifically designed for 1-cell Lithium Ion battery applications.
Key electrical features include a fixed overvoltage protection (OVP) threshold of 4.35V, with an available range of 3.85V to 4.6V. The OVP accuracy is high at ±10mV. It offers fixed OVP delay options of 4s or 6.5s. The device exhibits low power consumption, drawing approximately 1µA when cell voltage is below the protection threshold, and very low leakage current per cell input (< 100nA).
The BQ294602DRVR monitors the cell voltage for overvoltage conditions. Once the OVP threshold is exceeded, an internal counter triggers. After the fixed delay, the output transitions high. The output resets low if the cell voltage drops below the set threshold minus hysteresis.
Packaged in a compact 6-WSON (2x2) or 6-WDFN exposed pad, this IC is suitable for surface mount applications. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 110°C (TA). Standard package quantity is 3000 units, with tape and reel options available in quantities of 250.
