The BQ294533DRVR from Texas Instruments is a secondary-level voltage monitor and protector for Li-ion battery pack systems. It independently monitors each cell for overvoltage conditions and triggers an output after a fixed delay if any of the two or three cells exceed the threshold. This IC features a fixed OVP threshold adjustable from 3.85V to 4.6V and a fixed OVP delay option of 4s or 6.5s.
With high-accuracy overvoltage protection of ±10mV, the BQ294533DRVR ensures reliable battery safety. It boasts low power consumption, drawing approximately 1µA when all cells are below the protection voltage, and low leakage current per cell input of less than 100nA.
