The Texas Instruments BQ27Z561-R1 is an active battery gas gauge IC utilizing the Impedance Track™ algorithm for precise fuel gauging in single-series Li-ion and Li-Polymer battery packs. It supports cell chemistries including LiFePO4 and offers a wide battery capacity range from 100 mAh to 32,000 mAh.

Key electrical specifications include support for HDQ and I2C communication interfaces, a low-voltage operation down to 2V, and a wide current range from 1mA to over 5A. The device features a high-accuracy coulomb counter with an input offset error of less than 1 µV typical.
