The Texas Instruments BQ27350PW is a comprehensive battery fuel gauge designed for single-cell and 1-series Li-Ion/Li-Polymer applications. It utilizes the patented Impedance Track™ technology to accurately calculate and report remaining battery capacity, battery voltage, temperature, and charge/discharge current.
This IC provides four time-to-empty predictions by modeling the battery discharge curve and automatically adjusting for battery aging, self-discharge, and temperature/rate inefficiencies. It supports communication via HDQ and I2C interfaces and is housed in a 20-pin TSSOP package.
The BQ27350PW is suitable for a wide range of applications including POS terminals, industrial data collection devices, smartphones, PDAs, digital cameras, and handheld terminals. Its features include secure battery authentication using SHA-1/HMAC encryption and the ability to operate with a low-value sense resistor (10m or less).
