The Texas Instruments BQ25010RHLR is a versatile single-chip charger and DC/DC converter IC designed for powering Bluetooth headsets and accessories. It integrates both charge management for Li-Ion or Li-Polymer batteries and a synchronous buck converter.
This IC supports a maximum charge current of 500mA and operates with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 6.5V. The battery charge voltage is regulated at 4.2V. It features integrated USB charge control with selectable 100mA and 500mA charge rates, and includes power FETs and current sensing for charge applications. A 100mA DC-DC controller with integrated FETs is also included.
The BQ25010RHLR offers autonomous power source selection, allowing it to charge and power the system from either an AC adapter or USB. It includes reverse leakage protection to prevent battery drainage and an automatic power-save mode for high efficiency at low currents, or forced PWM for frequency-sensitive applications. The device operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
Packaged in a 20-VQFN (3.5mm x 4.5mm) with an exposed pad, this component is suitable for surface mounting. Its compact size and integrated functionality make it ideal for low-power handheld devices and Bluetooth accessories.
