The BQ24105IRHLRQ1 from Texas Instruments is a highly efficient, standalone buck battery charger IC qualified for automotive applications. It is designed for charging single-, two-, or three-cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery packs, and can also be used for LiFePO4 batteries.
This device integrates a synchronous fixed-frequency PWM controller operating at 1.1 MHz with a 0% to 100% duty cycle. It features integrated power FETs for up to a 2A charge rate, providing high-accuracy voltage and current regulation. The charger operates with an input voltage range of 4.35V to 16V and supports battery charge voltages from 2.1V to 15.5V.
Key features include AEC-Q100 automotive qualification, battery temperature monitoring via thermistor, input overvoltage protection (OVP), and status outputs for charge indication and fault reporting. It also includes automatic sleep mode for low power consumption, reverse leakage protection, and thermal shutdown protection.
