BQ24013DRCR

The BQ24013DRCR from Texas Instruments is a compact, highly integrated linear charge management IC for single-cell Li-ion and Li-Pol batteries. Targeted at space-constrained portable devices, this device features an integrated power FET and current sensor, capable of handling up to 1-A charge currents.

Key functionalities include reverse leakage protection to prevent battery drainage, precise current and voltage regulation with ±0.5% voltage accuracy, and charge termination based on minimum current or an internal safety timer. The BQ24013DRCR supports charge voltage options of 4.2 V and 4.36 V. It also includes status outputs for charge and fault indication, battery insertion/removal detection, and works with both regulated and unregulated supplies.

This charger operates in three phases: conditioning, constant current, and constant voltage. It automatically restarts charging if the battery voltage drops below a threshold and enters sleep mode when the VCC supply is removed. The device is available in a small 3-mm x 3-mm MLP (QFN) package, specifically the 10-VSON (DRC) variant, suitable for surface mounting.

Additional features include short-circuit protection and charge termination by minimum current and time. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. The device is supplied in a tape and reel package with a standard quantity of 3000 units.
