The BQ20Z95DBT from Texas Instruments is an SBS 1.1-compliant gas gauge and protection IC with Impedance Track technology. It is designed for accurate charge measurement in Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries, offering better than 1% error over the battery's lifetime.
This multi-function controller supports flexible configuration for 2-series to 4-series Li-Ion and Li-Polymer cells. It integrates a powerful 8-bit RISC CPU with ultra-low power modes and a full array of programmable protection features, including over voltage, under voltage, over current, and over temperature protection, as well as short circuit protection.
The device features an SMBus interface and supports SHA-1 authentication. It is housed in a compact 44-pin TSSOP package, suitable for applications such as notebook PCs, medical and test equipment, and portable instrumentation. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
