The Texas Instruments BQ20Z45DBTR is a single-chip solution for battery pack or in-system installation, providing gas gauging and protection for Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries. It supports the Smart Battery Specification (SBS) V1.1 and features patented Impedance Track™ technology for accurate available charge measurement over the battery's lifetime, with less than 1% error.
This IC is flexible, supporting configurations for 2 to 4 series Li-Ion or Li-Polymer cells. It includes a powerful 8-bit RISC CPU and an integrated analog front-end (AFE). The device offers a full array of programmable protection features, including over-current, over-temperature, over/under-voltage, and short-circuit protection, maximizing functionality and safety while minimizing external component count.
