The BQ2060SS-E207TR-EP from Texas Instruments is an SBS 1.1 compliant gas gauge IC designed for battery pack or in-system installation. It accurately maintains a record of available charge in rechargeable batteries, supporting multiple chemistries including NiCd, NiMH, Li-ion, and lead-acid.
This IC features a Coulomb Counter for precise charge measurement and uses a V-to-F converter with automatic offset error correction. It provides 15-bit resolution for voltage, temperature, and current measurements. The BQ2060SS-E207TR-EP communicates via SMBus or 1-Wire HDQ interfaces and drives a 4- or 5-segment LED display for remaining capacity indication.
