The BQ2057CTS is ideal for single-cell (4.1 V or 4.2 V) Li-ion or Li-pol packs. It requires a small number of external components and features a 0.3-V dropout voltage for minimizing heat dissipation. The device offers better than ±1% voltage regulation accuracy with preset voltages and includes AutoComp dynamic compensation of the battery pack's internal impedance to reduce charge time.

 

Key features include integrated voltage and current regulation with programmable charge-current and high- or low-side current sensing. It also has integrated cell conditioning for reviving deeply discharged cells and minimizing heat dissipation during the initial charge stage. A charge status output is provided for single or dual LEDs or a host processor interface. The IC supports automatic battery-recharge and charge termination by minimum current, along with an automatic low-power sleep mode when VCC is removed.

 

This component is available in an 8-pin TSSOP package suitable for surface mounting. It operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 70°C.
