The Vishay BPW21R is a planar Silicon PN photodiode housed in a hermetically sealed TO-5 package, specifically engineered for high-precision linear applications. Its design ensures linearity over seven decades of illumination level due to extremely high dark resistance. A strictly logarithmic correlation exists between open circuit voltage and illumination over the same range.
