The Bosch BMG160 is a digital, triaxial gyroscope sensor that measures angular rates along the X, Y, and Z axes. It offers 16-bit digital resolution and provides five switchable full-scale ranges from ±125°/s to ±2000°/s. The sensor operates with a voltage range of 2.4V to 3.6V and consumes less than 5mA of current.
Connectivity is provided via I2C and SPI interfaces, supporting both 4-wire and 3-wire SPI modes. The BMG160 includes an interrupt engine, low-pass filters, and fast/slow offset controllers for enhanced functionality. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
Packaged in a compact 3mm x 3mm x 0.95mm LGA (12-VFLGA) package, the BMG160 is suitable for space-constrained designs. It is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and Pb-free. Typical applications include cell phones, human machine interfaces, gaming, image stabilization, gesture recognition, and indoor navigation.
