The Bosch BMA400 is an advanced digital accelerometer engineered for applications demanding extended battery life, such as wearables and smart home devices. It provides ultra-low power consumption, drawing significantly less current than conventional accelerometers while maintaining high performance.
The BMA400 features selectable measurement ranges from ±2g to ±16g and a 12-bit digital resolution. Its output data rate can be adjusted from 12.5 Hz to 800 Hz. Key electrical characteristics include a wide operating voltage range of 1.71V to 3.6V and very low current consumption, with specific values for maximum performance, typical use, and low power modes.
This accelerometer supports SPI and I2C interfaces and includes programmable general interrupts. It is housed in a compact 2x2x0.95 mm³ 12-pin LGA package, suitable for surface mounting. The device also features a selectable low-pass filter and a 1 kB FIFO buffer for data management.
