The BGU7005,115 from NXP Semiconductors is a SiGe:C Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) MMIC specifically designed for GNSS receiver applications, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Compass (BeiDou).
This LNA operates across the full GNSS L1 band (1559 MHz to 1610 MHz) and provides a typical gain of 16.5 dB with a low noise figure of 0.85 dB. It features a high input 1 dB compression point (Pi(1dB)) of -11 dBm and an out-of-band IP3i of 9 dBm. The device supports a supply voltage range of 1.5 V to 3.1 V and is optimized for low power consumption, drawing only 4.5 mA at low supply current.
Designed for modern cellular handsets, the BGU7005 adapts to changing radio environments and provides optimal performance even in the presence of jamming signals from co-existing cellular transmitters. It requires minimal external components, needing only one matching inductor and one decoupling capacitor. The LNA is housed in a small 6-pin leadless SOT886 package (1 mm x 1.45 mm x 0.5 mm), making it suitable for space-constrained designs.
Key features include integrated matching for the output, input and output DC decoupling, and ESD protection on all pins (HBM > 2 kV). The integrated temperature-stabilized bias simplifies design efforts.
