The BCP56 is an NPN bipolar junction transistor (BJT) manufactured by On Semiconductor. It is designed for general purpose switching and amplification applications in surface-mount electronics. The transistor features a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 80V and a collector current rating of 1.2A, making it suitable for medium-power circuits. With a power dissipation of 1W, it can handle moderate power levels in compact designs.
The device offers a minimum DC current gain (hFE) of 40 at a collector current of 150mA and collector-emitter voltage of 2V. Its maximum saturation voltage is 500mV at a base current of 50mA and collector current of 500mA, ensuring efficient switching in low-voltage applications. The operating temperature range of -55°C to 150°C allows use in harsh environments.
The BCP56 is available in a TO-261-4 package (also known as SOT-223-4) for surface mounting. This package is well-suited for automated assembly and helps reduce board space. The component is RoHS3 compliant according to existing database records, but this compliance has not been independently verified from the manufacturer's datasheet.
