The BCP5516TA is an NPN medium power bipolar junction transistor designed for general purpose switching and amplification applications. It features a collector-emitter breakdown voltage (VCEO) of 60V and a continuous collector current rating of 1A, with a peak pulse current capability of 2A. The device has a DC current gain (hFE) of minimum 100 at 150mA, 2V, and a low saturation voltage of 500mV maximum at 500mA collector current. With a transition frequency of 150MHz, it is suitable for medium speed switching and AF driver stages.
The transistor is housed in a SOT223 surface mount package with a molded plastic case rated UL 94V-0. It is totally lead-free and RoHS3 compliant, halogen- and antimony-free. The package weighs approximately 0.112 grams and has matte tin plated leads. Moisture sensitivity is Level 1 per J-STD-020.
Typical applications include medium power switching or amplification circuits, AF driver and output stages. The device is complementary to PNP types BCP51, BCP52, and BCP53.
