The Broadcom BCM8727MCIFBG is a high-performance dual-channel transceiver designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) applications. It converts SFI signals to XAUI, incorporating Electronic Dispersion Compensation (EDC) for enhanced signal integrity.
This transceiver supports multiple interface types, including SFP+ SR, LR, and LRM optical modules, as well as direct attached copper cables up to 15 meters. It also offers multirate support for legacy 1 GbE interfaces. The device features a 4-lane XAUI interface operating at 3.125 Gbps and a serial 10.3125 Gbps CML physical medium dependent (PMD) interface.
Designed for high-density Ethernet switching and routing platforms, as well as next-generation blade servers, the BCM8727MCIFBG is housed in a compact 19 mm x 19 mm BGA package. It operates with a core supply of 1.0V and an I/O supply of 3.3V, with a typical power dissipation of 2.4W. A single-reference clock input enables the use of low-cost 156.25 MHz oscillators.
The interface type is SFI-to-XAUI.
It supports data rates of 10.3125 Gbps and 3.125 Gbps.
The power dissipation is 2.4 W.
The core supply voltage is 1 V and the I/O supply voltage is 3.3 V.
It supports SFP+ SR, LR, and LRM optical interfaces.
The package is BGA, measuring 19mm x 19mm with a 1mm ball pitch.
