The Broadcom BCM6411IPB is a 10 Gbps Ethernet Transceiver that extends Ethernet capabilities into the Wide Area Network (WAN). It features an aggregate bandwidth of 10-Gbps full-duplex, utilizing four channels of Broadcom's FusionCoreTM, capable of transmitting and receiving data at 3.125 Gigabits per second (Gbps) per channel.

This transceiver supports Broadcom’s EyeOpenerTM adaptive equalizer, enhancing cable reach and compensating for electrical imperfections. It includes integrated PLL and Clock and Data Recovery for individual channel locking. The device boasts a transmit jitter of less than 3 ps RMS, implemented in a 0.18µ standard CMOS process technology. The transmitter accepts 32-bit-wide parallel SSTL_2/HSTL-compatible data and serializes it into a 4-differential pair CML high-speed data (XAUI).

The BCM6411IPB is supplied in a 324-pin FBGA package measuring 19 mm x 19 mm. It operates with 1.8V and 2.5V supplies and has a nominal power consumption of 2.5W. The device supports key standards like 10 Gigabit attachment unit (XAUI) and 10 Gigabit media independent interface (XGMII) as proposed by IEEE 802.3ae.

Key features include support for four channels at 3.125 GBd, 32 bytes of de-skewing capability, and on-chip termination resistors. It also offers optional 8B/10B encoder and decoder functions per channel, parallel or serial loopback modes, and Built-In Self-Test (BIST) capability.
