The BC846B is an NPN epitaxial silicon bipolar transistor from On Semiconductor, designed for switching and amplifier applications. It features a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 65V and a collector current rating of 100mA. The device offers a DC current gain (hFE) of 200 minimum at 2mA collector current and 5V collector-emitter voltage (B classification), with a transition frequency of 100 MHz typical.
Packaged in a surface-mount SOT-23-3 package (also available as TO-236-3 and SC-59), the BC846B is suitable for automatic insertion in thick and thin-film circuits. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and has a maximum power dissipation of 310mW at 25°C ambient temperature (per datasheet).
