The BC638 is a PNP epitaxial silicon transistor from On Semiconductor, designed for general-purpose switching and amplifier applications. It features a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 60V and a continuous collector current rating of 1A, with a peak current capability of 1.5A. The device offers a DC current gain (hFE) ranging from 40 to 160 at 150mA, ensuring consistent performance in linear amplification circuits.
Housed in a TO-92-3 (TO-226) through-hole package with bent leads, the BC638 is easy to integrate into PCB designs. The transistor has a power dissipation of 1W at 25°C ambient temperature, with a derating factor of 8 mW/°C above that.
