The B88069X8650B502 is a 3-electrode gas discharge tube (GDT) surge arrester manufactured by TDK Electronics. It features a nominal DC spark-over voltage of 90 V with a tolerance of ±20%, ensuring reliable voltage clamping. The device is rated for impulse discharge currents of 20 kA (8/20 µs wave shape) for 10 operations and 25 kA for a single operation, as well as 5 kA for 10/350 µs surges. AC discharge capability includes 10 A for 1 second and 50 A for 0.18 seconds. With a very low capacitance of less than 1.5 pF at 1 MHz and high insulation resistance above 10 GΩ, this GDT minimizes signal distortion and provides excellent isolation. The impulse spark-over voltage is typically below 300 V at 100 V/µs and below 500 V at 1 kV/µs, offering fast response. It operates over a wide temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C and weighs approximately 2 g. The through-hole mounting package is an axial cylinder with three leads in a radial bend configuration, making it suitable for board-level surge protection in telecom and base station applications.
