The B72650M0271K072 is a SIOV metal oxide varistor from TDK Corporation, part of the B726 series. It provides overvoltage protection with a typical varistor voltage of 430V (range 387V to 473V) and can handle maximum AC voltages of 275V RMS and DC voltages of 350V. The varistor can absorb surge currents up to 400A for a single 8/20µs pulse (200A for 15 pulses) and has an energy absorption rating of 8.6J at 2ms. Maximum clamping voltage is 710V at 8/20µs. Capacitance is typically 50pF at 1kHz.
This surface mount varistor comes in a 3225 (8063 Metric) package with J-Lead termination, suitable for lead-free reflow and wave soldering. It is supplied in tape and reel packaging with 1000 pieces per reel. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, with storage temperature up to 125°C. The encapsulation is flame-retardant to UL 94 V-0.
