The B72214S0300K101 is a leaded metal oxide varistor (MOV) from TDK Electronics, part of the SIOV StandarD series. It offers a typical varistor voltage of 47V and can handle maximum surge currents up to 1kA (8/20 µs waveform). The component is housed in a Disc 14mm package with tinned wire terminals and an epoxy resin coating that is flame-retardant to UL 94 V-0.
This varistor is designed for overvoltage protection in AC and DC circuits, with a maximum AC voltage rating of 30V and maximum DC voltage rating of 38V. It can absorb up to 9J of energy (2 ms pulse) and has a nominal discharge current of 500A (8/20 µs, 15 times) per UL 1449 4th edition. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +105°C, with storage up to +125°C.
The through-hole mounting and 7.5 mm lead spacing make it suitable for PCB assembly. The part is RoHS3 compliant and REACH unaffected, with an MSL of 1 (unlimited).
