The B72210S0200K101 is a metal oxide varistor (MOV) from TDK's SIOV Standard series. It is designed for overvoltage protection in a wide range of electronic circuits. The varistor has a maximum AC voltage rating of 20V and a maximum DC voltage rating of 26V. The varistor voltage is specified as 29.7V minimum, 33V typical, and 36.3V maximum. It can handle a surge current of up to 500A (8/20µs pulse) and absorb up to 3.1J of energy (2ms pulse).
The component is housed in a round epoxy resin disc with a diameter of 10mm, with tinned wire leads. The coating is flame-retardant (UL 94 V-0). The operating temperature range is -40°C to +105°C, with storage temperature up to +125°C. The varistor meets climatic category 40/105/56 per IEC 60068-1.
Typical applications include AC line protection, DC power supply protection, and transient voltage suppression in consumer electronics, industrial equipment, and automotive systems. The B72210S0200K101 is leaded (through-hole) and is available in bulk or taped packaging.
