The TDK B72210S0151K101 is a Standard Series metal oxide varistor (MOV) designed for overvoltage protection in AC and DC circuits. It features a typical varistor voltage of 240V and a maximum surge current rating of 2.5kA (8/20 µs), capable of absorbing up to 24J of energy (2 ms pulse). The component offers a capacitance of 430 pF at 1 kHz and an insulation resistance of at least 100 MΩ.
Designed for through-hole mounting in a 10mm disc package, the varistor operates over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 105°C with no derating up to 105°C. The disc is coated with flame-retardant epoxy resin (UL 94 V-0) and has tinned wire terminals. It meets electric strength requirements of ≥2.5 kVRMS per IEC 61051 and is classified under climatic category 40/105/56.
This varistor is suitable for circuit protection in power supplies, industrial equipment, and consumer electronics. It is commonly used for AC line protection up to 150V RMS and DC applications up to 200V. The part is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) of 1 (unlimited).
