The ATXMEGA16D4-AU is an 8/16-bit AVR XMEGA microcontroller manufactured by Microchip Technology. It is based on the AVR core and offers 16KB of in-system self-programmable Flash memory, 2KB of SRAM, and 1KB of EEPROM. The device operates at a supply voltage range of 1.6V to 3.6V and can run at clock speeds up to 32MHz, making it suitable for low-power and high-performance applications.
The microcontroller includes a rich set of peripherals: four 16-bit timer/counters with high-resolution extensions, a 12-bit ADC with 12 channels and 200ksps sampling rate, two analog comparators, a four-channel event system, and a CRC-16/32 generator. Connectivity options include two USARTs (with IrDA support on one), two two-wire interfaces (I2C/SMBus compatible), and two SPI interfaces. It also features a 16-bit real-time counter with separate oscillator, brown-out detection, and power-on reset.
The device is packaged in a 44-lead TQFP (10x10mm) with surface mount mounting. It has 34 programmable I/O pins and supports external interrupts on all pins. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
This microcontroller is suitable for a wide range of embedded applications including industrial control, consumer electronics, and sensor interfaces. The QTouch library support enables capacitive touch sensing. The device is programmed and debugged via the PDI (Program and Debug Interface).
