The ATtiny40 is a high-performance, low-power 8-bit AVR microcontroller from Microchip Technology, based on the AVR RISC architecture. It executes 54 powerful instructions, most in a single clock cycle, achieving up to 12 MIPS throughput at 12 MHz.
It features 4KB of in-system programmable Flash memory, 256 bytes of internal SRAM, and supports 10,000 write/erase cycles with data retention of 20 years at 85°C and 100 years at 25°C. The device includes a 12-channel 10-bit ADC, one 8-bit timer/counter with two PWM channels, one 8/16-bit timer/counter, an on-chip analog comparator, and a programmable watchdog timer with separate oscillator. Communication interfaces include master/slave SPI and slave TWI (I²C).
Operating from 1.8V to 5.5V, the microcontroller consumes 200 µA in active mode at 1 MHz/1.8V, 25 µA in idle mode, and less than 0.1 µA in power-down mode. It is rated for industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
The ATtiny40 is available in a 20-pin SOIC package (0.295" body width, 7.50mm pitch) and is surface-mountable. It is designed for space-constrained and low-power embedded applications.
The ATTINY40-SU operates from 1.8V to 5.5V.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
It comes in a 20-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface-mount package.
RoHS3 Compliant (unverified).
The maximum clock frequency is 12 MHz at 4.5V-5.5V, 8 MHz at 2.7V-5.5V, and 4 MHz at 1.8V-5.5V.
It has 4KB of Flash program memory and 256 bytes of SRAM.
It supports SPI (master/slave) and I²C (slave) interfaces.
