The Atmel ATSAMG55J19A-MUT is a Flash microcontroller based on the 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 RISC processor with an integrated Floating Point Unit (FPU). It offers a maximum operating speed of 120 MHz, complemented by 512 Kbytes of Flash memory and up to 176 Kbytes of SRAM.
This microcontroller features a comprehensive peripheral set, including eight flexible communication units supporting USART, SPI, and I2C-bus interfaces (TWIs). It also includes two three-channel, 16-bit general-purpose timers, two I2S controllers, a single-channel pulse density modulation unit, and an 8-channel, 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). Additionally, it incorporates an ultra-low-power Real-Time Timer (RTT) and Real-Time Clock (RTC) in its backup area.
The SAM G55 series supports three software-selectable low-power modes: Sleep, Wait, and Backup, allowing for optimized power consumption. The flexible clock system enables different clock frequencies for peripherals, and the processor and bus clock frequency can be adjusted independently of peripheral operations. Real-time event management allows peripherals to interact without processor intervention in Active and Sleep modes.
