The Atmel ATmega8L-8MU is a high-performance, low-power 8-bit AVR microcontroller based on advanced RISC architecture. It features 8KB of in-system self-programmable Flash memory, 1KB internal SRAM, and 512 bytes of EEPROM with high endurance of 10,000 write/erase cycles for Flash and 100,000 for EEPROM. Data retention is rated at 20 years at 85°C and 100 years at 25°C.
This microcontroller operates at a maximum speed of 8MHz and supports a wide voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V. It includes 23 programmable I/O lines and a rich set of peripherals such as two 8-bit timers, one 16-bit timer, three PWM channels, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, and serial interfaces including I2C, SPI, and UART/USART. Additional features include brown-out detection, power-on reset, and an internal calibrated oscillator.
The device is housed in a 32-VFQFN exposed pad package (32-VQFN 5x5mm) and is designed for surface mount assembly. It is suitable for a wide range of embedded applications requiring low power consumption, with typical active current of 3.6mA at 4MHz and 3V, and power-down current as low as 0.5µA.
